Anya-Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy was born on April 16, 1996, in Miami, Florida. Her parents are of Spanish and Scottish descent. She began her acting career in 2014, with roles in the films The Witch and Split. She went on to star in numerous other films, including Last Night in Soho, The Menu, and The Northman.
Breakthrough Role
Taylor-Joy's breakthrough role came in 2020, when she played Beth Harmon in the Netflix miniseries The Queen's Gambit. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
